If you would like to use the design system to wireframe or prototype a site or an application, the DDS also provides the design assets that you need to quickly prototype your next project.
The DDS design kit is built in Adobe XD and includes all the DDS core components and styles to use in your product and web experiences to create Syracuse University compliant designs. By using the kit you will automatically receive updates made to the DDS libraries ensuring your designs stay up to date with the latest release as well as ensuring consistency between design assets and code.
To use the DDS design kit, you first must have the latest version of Adobe XD installed and you need to be signed into Adobe Creative Cloud.
Once you are logged into Creative Cloud, click on the Get the DDS Library button below.
This link will open a new tab in your browser and will take you to an Adobe Creative Cloud page that will have the title of Digital Design System V2. On this page, you will see a gallery of design assets that will be available in this library.
Next, click on the button at the top right of your window that says "Add to your libraries". This will add the library to the list of libraries that you may use in your XD documents.
Once the library has been added, you will now see the library under Your Libraries within Creative Cloud.
To use the library in your designs, first open a new XD document.
In the left sidebar there will be a link that says "View libraries"
This will then display the libraries you have access to inside your document. Click on the library labeled "Digital Design System". This will now give you a list of assets such as colors, character styles and components that you can now click on or drag into your document.
